At The Garden we have been celebrating Advent. In our tradition Advent is the season of preparation leading up to Christmas; celebrating the birth of Jesus. As we prepare we cannot ignore the radical call for us as a community who follow Jesus. It’s a call to humility and service; we become poor that others may me made rich. So Advent leads us to action.
On Sunday, December 15, The Garden wrapped things up a bit early and traded the comfort of the living room for picking up trash around the neighborhood. It’s a small act but I think it sums up what we’re about: making the city better for everyone.
